Saturday evening.

Well…..

we made it. we departed FVCN at 5:18 this morning on a 2 part mission deliver Mary Paige to the informant papy jack, and grandma, at the Quality inn in Roanoke VA, and then complete the trip to Hixson, TN.  We ran into some rain early followed by a beautiful day driving through the Shenandoah Valley, we hit some traffic where 81 and 77 meet and thank God for our country gal Terri Smith who took us down some back roads and got us back on track in no time. after that we had a straight shot down, littered with some emergency bathroom breaks, to Grace church of the Nazarene in Hixson TN.  Where Jared was waiting with BBQ pork, chicken, and all the fix-in’s.  Watching 62 people share 2 showers was impressive our kids were very gracious towards one another.  some of our kids took some soap outside and showered in the rain, not a bad idea, way to go Garret, and Josh.  make sure you guys check out the youtube page, there are some quality videos on already and it is still the first day!  i also learned something from our stowaway Mary Paige “if cows lay down it means its going to rain!” not sure how scientifically accurate this is but we got a huge kick out of it.

Parnets you should be very proud of your students, they are doing a great job so far.  things to be in prayer for, safety for travel and on the job sites this week, pray for God to move in a powerful way in our students that Gos would send his spirit to stir our hearts for affection towards Him.  and that God would heal any broken relationships.  lastly, pray for our leaders as they leave families back home.

side notes: our drive went well, gas prices were under 2.50 a gallon and we made pretty good time.  the packed lunches from home were great and it was fun to see all the students enjoying lunch together, sitting on a curb outside a quality inn hotel, near Roanoke VA.  States we traveled through, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virgina, Virginia, and Tennessee, tomorrow will be Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and lastly Texas.

Quote of the day,  “what happens when half the cows are laying down and half are standing up?  how much rain will we get then?” Aaron Houseal
